2. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, addresses issues of domestic violence, including physical, emotional, economic, or verbal abuse. Criminal proceedings may be initiated under this law.


3. CRUELTY: Section 498A of the Indian Penal Code deals with cruelty towards a woman by her husband or his relatives. If a woman alleges cruelty, a criminal case can be filed under this section.

4. BIGAMY: Marrying another person while already being married is a criminal offense in India. Section 494 and 495 of the Indian Penal Code deal with the offense of bigamy.

5. SECTION 377 IPC: In certain cases involving unnatural offenses, such as non-consensual or forced sexual acts, Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code may be invoked.

6. ADULTERY (SECTION 497 IPC): Although the offense of adultery was decriminalized in 2018, it can still be considered as a ground for divorce. However, it is not a criminal offense anymore.

7. CRIMINAL BREACH OF TRUST (SECTION 406 IPC): If there are allegations of misappropriation or wrongful disposal of matrimonial property, it may lead to criminal charges under Section 406.

8. STALKING AND VOYEURISM (SECTION 354D IPC): If there are allegations of stalking or voyeurism within the context of a matrimonial dispute, criminal charges can be filed under this section.
